She was predeceased by: her parents, Elmer Renth Johnston and Alverda Jane Moore Johnston; her sisters, Vida Owsley, Thelma Mangin, Lois Potterfield and Dorothy Potterfield; her daughter Suzanne Mitchell; her granddaughters, Dawn and Candy Vance; and her great grandchild Isabella Mitchell-Wheeler.
She is survived by: her son Don Vance (Cathy) of Palmyra, MO; her grandchildren, Angela Utterback (Shane) of Hannibal, MO, LeAnn Shuck (Jordan) of Palmyra, MO, Jerry Vance of Taylor, MO, Michael Mitchell (Mary) of Monroe City, Wendi Beilsmith (James) of Palmyra, MO, Kari Adams (Robert) of Hull, IL and Sara Thrasher (John) of Monroe City, MO; and her great grandchildren, Kelsey, Kayley, Kameryn (Kris), Khloe, Ben, Noah, Kendall, Emmy, Trinity, Karma and Sylee of Bentley, JW. She is also survived by 8 great great grandchildren, 1 on the way and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 13th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Lewis Brothers Funeral Chapel (424 S Main St, Palmyra, MO 63461). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 14th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Maple Lawn Auxiliary or Palmyra Senior Nutrition Center.
