With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Max B. Schaefer of Palmyra, Missouri, who passed away on November 3, 2025 at the age of 95. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Max B. Schaefer to pay them a last tribute.
He was predeceased by: his parents, John Schaefer and Caroline Voepel Schaefer; his wife Alma Jane Peiter Schaefer; his daughter Julie Marie Schaefer; and his brother Thomas "Tommy" Schaefer.
He is survived by: his children, Dwane Schaefer (Toni) of Palmyra, MO, Janell Parks of Palmyra, MO and Michael Schaefer (Stephanie) of Palmyra, MO; his grandchildren, Anthony Schaefer (Dannielle), Brandon Schaefer (Sheri), Kaleah Brown (Jack), Chandra DeLaPorte (Tyler), Ceres Neff (Brad), Jonathan Schaefer and Justin Schaefer (Bri); and his brother Earl Schaefer of Moline, IL. He is also survived by several great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Friday, November 7th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Lewis Brothers Funeral Chapel (424 S Main St, Palmyra, MO 63461). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 8th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the same location.
Memorial contributions may be made to Zion Lutheran Church, St. Croix Hospice and Maple Lawn Nursing Home.
