Carol Merry Spencer Obituary

With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Carol Merry Spencer (Paris, Missouri), born in Davenport, Iowa, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on April 2, 2026 at the age of 89. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Pearl Wortman and Maxwell Wortman; her husband Jim Spencer; her brothers, Max and Randy Wortman; her children-in-law, Alvin Posey Sr. and Nancy Appleby; and her great great grandchildren, Olivia and Rubi.

She is survived by: her sisters, Betty and Janet Wortman; and her children, Dave Appleby, Cathy Phillips (Larry), Jim Appleby, Anna Appleby (Christal Crotts), James Spencer Jr., Jenny Gentzler (Edwin) and Julie Posey. She is also survived by nine grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
