He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Eugene and Mary Lucille Smith (Tredway); and his siblings, Randy Smith and Stephanie Smith. He is survived by: his daughters, Angela Ness (Jason) of Paris, MO, Kerrie Heinecke (Nathan) of Paris, MO and Mandy Buie (Doug) of Paris, MO; his grandchildren, Payton Ness, Erin Heinecke, Madeline Heinecke and Jackson Mikel; his brother Rusty Smith (Donna) of Denver, CO.; and his spouse Lenice Willingham.

Memorials may be made to St. Judes Children's Hospital.
