He was predeceased by: his mother Kathryn J. Searls (Lea); his wife Jean Schmidt; and his daughter Linda Costephens. He is survived by: his father Warren B. Searls; his children, Robert Searls (Connie) of Imperial, MO, Lori Estal of Poplar Bluff, MO and Patricia "Patti" Chiecsek (Tommy) of St. Louis, MO; his grandchildren, Joe Costephens (Sarah), Brad Costephens (Joy), Michelle Searls, Bryan Searls (Julie), Jacob Garcia (Tina) and Lyndsay Garcia; and his son-in-law Rick Costephens of O'Fallon, MO.. He is also survived by great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Monday, September 28th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Ruegg Funeral Home-Piedmont (321 N Main St, Piedmont, MO 63957). A funeral service will be held on Monday, September 28th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
