He is survived by: his wife Dolores Shadel; his children, Russell David, Steven Wayne, Ruth Small (Steve) and Bruce Hirst (Joanne); and his grandchildren, Jeff Hirst, Jessica Hirst, Ashley Pinkston, Brice Hirst, Angela Napier, Wendy Fleming and Jennifer Hirst-Long.
Daniel graduated from William Chrisman High School in 1950, marking the beginning of a lifelong journey marked by numerous contributions to those around him.
