She was predeceased by: her parents, Alphonse E. Gehlen and Cecelia Gehlen (Hoffard); her son J. Douglas Beneze; and her stepson Scott Jennings Williamson. She is survived by: her husband Leroy of Pleasant Hill; her daughters, Jackie Hignite of Independence, Stacie Beneze of Independence, Lori Hammett (Butch) of Parker and Julie Kuenzli of Boise, Idaho; her stepdaughters, Debi Lemmon (Leland) of Allen and Vicki Siebers (Mike) of Shawnee, Kansas; her grandchildren, Joshua Hammett (Heather), Christina Ray (Nick), Austin and J. Mackenzie Serner (Kaitlyn); her stepgrandson Chris Swett (Aspen); her siblings, Jerry Gehlen (Kathy) of Coeur d'Alene and Judy Ruddach (Earl) of Spokane, Washington; and her close friend Sue Despot (Mike) of Boise, ID. She is also survived by other relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church and can be sent to the funeral home.
