It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Velma Sweet of Pleasant Hill, Missouri, born in Mount Vernon, Missouri, who passed away on January 2, 2026, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, George Dewey and Minnie Mae Calvy (Morris); her husband Rev. Neal Sweet of Lee's Summit; and her sister Carolyn Sue Morris. She is survived by: her sons, Jonathan Clark Sweet of Raytown and Philip Eugene Sweet of Nevada, Missouri.; her niece Carey Loney of Pleasant Hill, Missouri.; and her grandchildren, Travis Clark Sweet of Raytown, Ahsley Nicole Gamber (Jason) of Raytown and Savannah Marie Sweet of Harrisonville, Missouri..
