With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of William R. Markey Jr. of Pleasant Hill, Missouri, born in Kansas City, Missouri, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on August 30, 2025 at the age of 67. He was predeceased by: his father William R. "Bill" Sr. Markey; his son-in-law Matt Young; his granddaughter Alexis Canaan; and his sister Jill Waddle. He is survived by: his mother Mary E. "Betty" Markey (O'Brien) of Kansas City; his wife Carole Annette Gallipeau of Pleasant Hill; his children, Claire Canaan (Nick) of Pleasant Hill and T. J. Markey (Kristina) of Castle Rock, Colorado; his grandchildren, Noelle Canaan, Ryanne Canaan, Dylan Markey and Madison Markey; his siblings, Kacey Hobson (Roger), Rich Markey (Patty) of Overland Park, Mary Markey (David Holland) of Lee's Summit, Jim Markey (Michele) of Greenwood and John Markey (Debbie) of Battlefield, Missouri; and his brother-in-law Mike Waddle of Pleasant Hill. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins; other relatives and friends.
