He was predeceased by : his parents, JD Stephens and Donna Mae Stephens; his parents-in-law, JT Shelton and Frieda Shelton; his stepson Brad Curp; his sister Beverly Curp; and his brother-in-law Bill Curp.

He is survived by : his wife Barbara; his children, Valerie Light (Doyle) and Wayne Stephens (Kelly); his stepchildren, Karen Shonk (Curt), Mark Curp (Teri), Sheryl Franke (Brian), Darla Moberly (Mark) and Brian Curp (Natalie); his siblings, Sharon Griffey (Jim), Philip Stephens (Mary Ann) and Alan Stephens (Lyndie); his grandchildren, Vanessa Bailey, Taylor Stephens, Addison Stephens and Destiny Stephens; and his stepgrandchildren, Craig Shonk, Jonathan Curp, Whitney Webb, Kalee Shonk, Michael Franke, Dalton Moberly, Dillon Moberly, Morgan Flaxbeard, Caden Shonk, Marissa Klenda, Adam Curp, Keenan Curp, Ellie Curp, Asher Curp, Dathan Curp and Micah Curp. He is also survived by 6 great-grandchildren, 16 step great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Missouri Baptist Children's Home or the SBC International Mission Board in care of the funeral home.
