He was predeceased by: his parents, John Hardin and Velma Hardin (Chambers); his siblings, Chesley "Sonny" Hardin and Shirley Sifford; and his half-siblings, Ellis, Roy, Charles, Walter, Bessie Elzie, Effie, Lillie and Cleva.

He is survived by: his daughters, Cheryl Hardin and Charlotte Burns (Hardin); his brother Truman Hardin; and his friend Sharon Hardin. He is also survived by numerous extended family members and friends.
