He was predeceased by: his parents, Kenneth Sexton and Lois Sexton; his grandson Jeffery Sexton; his great grandchild Jeffrey Poston; and his siblings, Michael, Harold Sexton, Virginia, Shirley, Patricia and Doris.

He is survived by: his wife Lilly Pool; his children, John T Sexton of Poplar Bluff, Tim Sexton (Erica) of Lee Summitt, MO, Angela D. James (Kevin) of Arnold, MO and Gayle D. Fields (Kelly) of Poplar Bluff; his brother Wilbur K. Sexton of Farmington, MO.; his grandchildren, Jessica Poston (Josh), Matthew Bounds (Shelby) and Dawnita Bryant (Dustin); and his great grandchildren, Raelynn Smith, Liam, Kysen Bryant and Rosemary Bounds.

He was a member of the American Legion post 153, Vietnam Veterans of America post 1056, Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation and was an avid St. Louis Cardinal fan.
