She was predeceased by: her parents, John Murphy and Joyce Murphy (Yates); her former husband James "Cotton" William Griffin; her husband Bill Scheider; her son James "David" Griffin; and her siblings, John Patrick, Donald "Donnie", Harchel, Herschell, Hubert Murphy, Bertha Rothcart, Patricia Freeman, Edith Nugen, Christine McCoy and Judy Manning.
She is survived by: her daughter Donna Sladek; her siblings, James "Jimmy", Mike Murphy and Linda Taylor; and her grandchildren, Terri Duncan, David Griffin, Meredith Sladek, Michelle Farrar and Adam Sladek. She is also survived by eleven great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.
