He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Hayes and Laura Hayes (Moses); his siblings, Floyd, Olin, Homer, Herschel, Jack, Jim Hayes and Fern Cheney; his son-in-law Paul Lohmann; and his friend Jim Wittmeyer.
He is survived by: his wife Brenda (Imlay); and his sisters-in-law, Irma, Leola and Mildred Hayes. He is also survived by seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren.
