We are sad to announce that, on December 5, 2021 we had to say goodbye to John Holland of Poplar Bluff, Missouri. Leave a sympathy message to the family in the guestbook on this memorial page of John Holland to show support.

He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Earnest Rudolph Holland and Alphia Emma Holland; his friend Dale Meyerkord; his children, Timothy, Challis Holland of Holts Summit, Missouri, Daniel (Gabriella Holland) of Poplar Bluff and Heather (Patrick Wroge) of South Grafton; his grandchildren, Ashley, Sara, Tommy Holland, Mary-Catherine Toriumi (Holland), Catherine, Alexander Wroge, Nathan and Gabriel Seidl; his former wife Catherine Arrendale Sheets Holland of Poplar Bluff; and his wife Margaret Greer Schlosser Holland.

After a terrible, long-term bout with COVID, which had confined John to his home, oxygen and 24-hour care, he decided to end his life as he had lived it: on his own terms.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be sent to Animal Welfare Alliance or to Veterans of Foreign Wars.

“I don't know if the Holland family will remember me. My name is Mark Phelps. Mr. Holland was my T-Ball, Baseball and Basketball coach in Mount Vernon, VA in the mid to late 1970's. For some reason, I thought of him today and decided to do a search. Condolences to his family. I have fond memories of Mr. and Mrs. Holland and their sons Tim and Dan. I remember spending some time at their home in Riverside.”
