Matthew Richardson Obituary
We announce the death of Matthew Richardson of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, who passed away on October 2, 2026, at the age of 73. Matthew will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Lee Richardson and Wanda Geraline Inman Richardson; his brother Guy H. Richardson; and his nephew Gil H. Richardson. He is survived by: his wife Mona; his daughters, Amelia Wright (Kat) and Blythe Smith (Matthew); his stepdaughter Shelly Benson (Joe); his grandchildren, Walker Smith and Mackenzie Smith; his stepgranddaughters, Hannah Benson and Abby Sims (Trevor); and his siblings, Mark Richardson (Kathy), Ruth Ann Nations (Leslie) and Cathy Likens (John). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 9th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Fellowship General Baptist Church (3581 N Westwood Blvd, Poplar Bluff, MO 63901). A celebration of life will be held on Friday, October 9th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
