He is survived by: his wife Mary Walker Traxel; his sons, Richard Louis Traxel (Karen) and Benjamin Frederick Traxel (Madawn); his grandchildren, Kayla Traxel, Abigail Traxel, Samuel Traxel, Henry Traxel and Beau Traxel; and his siblings, Charles Traxel (Libby) of Maysville, Joseph Traxel (Libby) of Maysville, Steven Traxel of Maysville and Lucia Cochran of Jacksonville, Fla..
The family has requested that any memorials be in the form of donations to the First United Methodist Church, Poplar Bluff Municipal Library, Margaret Harwell Art Museum or a charity of the donor's choice.
