We announce the death of Edith Portell (Potosi, Missouri), who passed away on July 30, 2026, at the age of 82. Edith will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her parents, Annie Marie Hammond (Sanders) and Edgar Lee Hammond; her husband Jesse "Bucky" Portell; her siblings, Hattie Richards, Roger and Jimmy Hammond; and her children-in-law, Kenny Wiggins and Christina Smalley.
She is survived by: her children, Jesse "Porkey" Portell, Doris Henry, Lisa Kent and Peggy Wiggins; her sister Linda Politte; and her grandchildren, Sierra, Eliza (Blakly), Heather (Brandi), Danielle (Matt), April (Brian), Michelle, Cassandra, Clark, Kevin Jr., Kelly, Katie, Casey and Katrina. She is also survived by many great grandchildren, other relatives and special friends.
