She was predeceased by : her parents, Elijah Barton and Ethelyn Barton (Greenlee); her husband Bob Johnston; her daughter Mary Ann Johnston; her siblings, Burgess Barton and Carl Barton; and her sisters-in-law, Rose Ann Richard, Mary Catherine Portell and Florence Johnston.

She is survived by : her children, Robert Johnston (Vicki), Diana Brand (Denny), Roger Johnston (Becky), Donald Johnston (Stephanie), Nancy Johnston-Beall (Michael) and Richard Coleman (Kim); her grandchildren, Dennis Lee Brand, Doug Brand (Beth), Katie Harris (Tim), Abigail Traxel (Joshua), Emily Gau (Neil), Beau Beall (Megan), Jason Coleman (Megan), Cassie Holdman (Ryan) and Tara Smith (Brandon); her great grandchildren, Dougie (Kara), Hailee, Caleb, Layne, Elizabeth, Jackson, Ezekiel, Anna, Widlina, Carter, Nolan, Gavyn, Andrew, Blake, Lucas, Macklin, Riley, Hannah, Easton and Kyle; and her brother-in-law James Johnston (Carol). She is also survived by nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
