He was predeceased by : his parents, Charles Leo Coleman and Mary Irene Coleman (Robart); his siblings, Amelda Boyer, Elizabeth Merritt, Catherine "Pee Wee" Messey, Rita Coleman, Charles T. Coleman, Joe Coleman and Gene Coleman; his in-laws, Russell Thebeau, Bernard Thebeau, Paul Thebeau, James Thebeau and Mildred Bourisaw; his grandchild Bailey Coleman; and his great grandchild Karsynn "K. J." Trokey.

He is survived by : his wife Norma Jean Coleman; his sons, Kenny Coleman (Melissa) and James "Jimmy" Coleman; his siblings, Martha Aubuchon, Romona Mesey (Charles) and David Coleman; his grandchildren, Jamie Coleman, Kaitlyn Coleman, Lindsey Wilson (Dylan), Kyle Coleman and Courtney Nigro (Justin Trokey); and his great grandchildren, Kaedann Trokey, Korbynn Trokey, Emberlynn Wilson and Amelia Trokey.
