He was predeceased by: his parents, Willie Orlan Bryan of Technician and Margaret Mae Boyd; his brother Gary Eugene Bryan (Chief Warrant Officer); his son John Bryan Jr.; and his aunt Lea Boyd Clark.

He is survived by: his wife Linda; his daughter Shannon Bryan; his stepdaughters, Shelley LaRose Arken and Angie LaRose Witt; his daughter-in-law Alice Govert Bryan; his sister-in-law Mary Louise Bryan; his nieces, Nicole Bryan and Janna Bryan; his uncle James Boyd; and his grandchildren, Drew Bryan, Jack Bryan, Jeannie Fagan, Dylan Arken and Jacqueline Arken.
