Cecil Ellis Wormington Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Cecil Ellis Wormington of Purdy, Missouri, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on July 26, 2025 at the age of 84. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Though his name may fade from the lips of time, the imprint Cecil Ellis leaves upon the hearts of his loved ones remains eternally vivid — a testament to the depth of his spirit and the richness of his legacy.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Damon Wormington and Ollie Wormington. He is survived by: his wife Katherine; his daughters, Valerie Bennett (Mike) of Purdy and Angie Wormington of Bentonville, Arkansas; and his sisters, Darline Neill (Lee) of Purdy and Margaret Moller of Verona, Missouri. He is also survived by three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 30th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Bennett-Wormington Funeral Home (216 2nd St, Monett, MO 65708). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 31st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
Memorial donations in Cecil's name may be made to the Purdy Alumni Scholarship Fund or to Hospice Compassus.
