He was predeceased by: his parents, Martin Clifford Placher and Melissa Sifford Placher; and his brother Charles Placher. He is survived by: his wife Lou Ann McLean Placher; his children, Lori Hancock (Dewayne) and Eric; his grandchildren, Sarah Hancock, Will Hancock, Lauren Placher Crabtree (Mason), Gage Placher and Tayleigh Placher; his great grandchild Samuel Howard Crabtree; his brother Ray Placher (Jean); his sisters-in-law, Martha Jane McLean Harmon (Glen) and Phyllis Fish Placher; and his grandchildren, McKenzie Robinson Scarborough (Matt), Anabelle Allen, Bryson Kaiser, Hadley Kaiser and Owen Viratos.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made in Johnny's memory to Brown Church Cemetery fund, c/o First Midwest Bank of Puxico.
