He is survived by: his sons, James D. Stephens, Jr. (Trina) of Kansas City, Howard Lewis of Blue Springs, Johnny Stephens and Joseph Stephens of Quincy; and his great grandchildren, James, Blake, Adam, Amanda, Jacob, Tassie, Amanda W., Jayme, McKenzie, Spence, Johnathan, Jayce, Nora, Ava, Bennett, Gracelynn and Piper. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
