He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Shotwell Mills, Sr. and Viola Mae Nicholson; his brother Charles Shotwell Mills, Jr.; and his half-siblings, Enoch James Nicholson, Frances Viola Bealle, Florine Pearl Kibler and Irene Mae Koscoe.
He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Hawkins Mills; his children, Kimberley Robyn McDaniel (Thomas E. McDaniel, Jr.), Angela Kay Mills and Douglas Ashby Mills; and his brother Albert W. Mills. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren.
