He is survived by: his wife Mary Jo; his children, Christine Neely (Sean), Paul O'Brien (Amy) and Jennifer Johnson (Eric); his brother Larry O'Brien (Gloria); his grandchildren, Jenny, Jamie Neely, Megan O'Brien-Wright (Tyler), Paul Michael O'Brien (Nicole), Michele O'Brien, Mason O'Brien, Joshua Payton, Ashton and Josephine Null; his great grandchildren, Noah, Liam Wright and Knox Skrip; his brother Thomas; and his sister-in-law Linda Holcomb. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
