She was predeceased by: her parents, Edward Helm and Margaret Helm; her husband John Chaplin; and her brother Edward Helm. She is survived by: her siblings, Alma Wheeler, Rob Haney and Sue Hamden; her children, Lisa Chaplin and Chris (Mary Chaplin); and her grandchildren, Robbie and Lauren Chaplin.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to Barbara's home church, Leawood United Methodist Church in Leawood Kansas.
