She is survived by: her husband Gerald Piland; her children, Steve Piland of Kansas City and Shelly Rypka (Dixon) of Owatonna; and her grandchildren, Ryan Rypka of Minneapolis, Minnesota. and Katelyn Rypka of Minneapolis, Minnesota..
A memorial service was held on Saturday, August 29th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Clinkingbeard Funeral Homes, Inc. (407 N Mansfield Rd, Ava, MO 65608).
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to St. Jude's Children's Hospital (one of Mary Ellen's favorite charities).
