He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph "Jake" Garton and Grace Garton (Inman); and his siblings, Roberta McGuire (Mac), Dixie Reynolds (Bob) and Wayne Garton.
He is survived by: his wife Lura Garton; his brother John (Jan); and his children, Michael Garton, Michelle Whittaker (Scott), Melissa Dhondt (Rodney) and Marty Meador (Matt). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
A celebration of life will be held on Monday, November 2nd 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Meadors Funeral Home (314 N Main Ave, Republic, MO 65738). A burial will be held on Monday, November 2nd 2026 at 3:00 PM at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery (5201 S Southwood Rd, Springfield, MO 65804).
