He was predeceased by: his parents, George Sowards and Marie Sowards; his siblings, Eldon Sowards and Aleene Joyce Sowards; his parents-in-law, Henry and Leona McGinley; his brothers, Jerry McGinley (Nellie) and Don McGinley (Linda); and his brother-in-law Eugene McGinley.
He is survived by: his wife Irene; his children, Debbie Sowards and Wayne Sowards (Julie); his granddaughter Amanda Brown (Cody); his great grandchildren, Owen and Kane Brown; and his brother Raymond Sowards. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, and countless friends.
