It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joy LaVerne Dorton of Richmond, Missouri, born in Enid, Oklahoma, who passed away on October 19, 2022, at the age of 95, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband James Thomas "Bud" Dorton of Orrick; her son James Dorton (Stanley); and her sons-in-law, Bill Jeffries and Kenny Hutchings. She is survived by: her daughters, Phyllis Jeffries of Orrick and Barbara Hutchings of Richmond; and her daughter-in-law Cathy Dorton of Cordova, TN. She is also survived by six grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Richmond United Christian Presbyterian Church's Fellowship Mission Fund.
