She was predeceased by: her parents, Arvil Tracy and Effie Tracy (O'Dell); her spouse Peyton Junior Carter of Richmond; her children, Ronald Carter and Janet Carter; her grandson Peyton Smith Carter; her great grandchild Robert Swain; and her siblings, Ralph Tracy, Cordell Tracy, Paul Tracy and Helen Tracy.
She is survived by: her children, David Carter of Richmond, Patricia "Pat" Macey (Duwayne) of Richmond and Karen Branson (Kim) of Richmond; her grandchildren, Sean Kirkpatrick (Jaynna), Heather Milton (Andi), Bryan Macey (Denise), Christopher Macey (Melinda), Marc Macey, Tanya Adams, Beth Ainsworth, Charles Carter, Rona Reade (Benjamin), Brad Branson (Karla), Tracy Jarvis (Chris), Dr. Angela Carter (Gabe Lyrek), Derek Carter, Kristy Travillion and Michael Storm (Kelsie); her great grandchildren, Shane, Jack, Marissa, Cora, Creighton, Liam, Jacob, Keegan, Dana, Clayton, Madison, Brett, Cameron, Tylar, Paige, Craig, Brittany, Austin, Dillon, Haley, Grace, Soloman, LeRoy, Jillian, Jade, Ean, Max, Luca, BreeAnna, Blaine, Delyla and Amara; her great great grandchildren, Adelaie, Hadleigh, Cael, Braxton, Brexley, Hensley, McKynlee, Sawyer, Brandt, Tate, Parker, Adallyn, Ayden, Able, Colt, Slayter, Crue, Ella, Annie, Lane, Ivy and Ruth; her daughter-in-law Irean Carter; and her caregiver Mary Sanders. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to either Shirkey Nursing and Rehabilitation Center or Shirkey Hospice.
