He was predeceased by: his parents, John "Melvin" Payne and Eula Mae Payne (Vaughn); his wife Joyce Jones; and his siblings, Lyndon, Thomas, Norman, Clinton Payne, Elouise Mugavero and Lavada Madden.
He is survived by: his son Larry Payne (Patty) of Rives, Missouri.. He is also survived by 30 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren, other relatives and many friends.
