She was predeceased by: her son Johnny R. Yates Jr.; her parents, Ova B. Lewis and Reba V. Lewis (Maloney); and her sisters, Olena Lifko and Sharon Dailey.
She is survived by: her husband Johnny R. Yates Sr.; her daughters, Carrie Kubley (Robert) of Rolla, MO and Tina Sands (Walter) of Newburg, MO; and her siblings, Melinda McCormick (Linnley) of Rolla, MO, Janet Ellis (John Ellis) of Saint James, MO and Rick Lewis (Pam Lewis) of Edgar Springs, MO.. She is also survived by six grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren.
