He is survived by: his mother Shirley Mae Ortbals (Kresl); his wife Janet Kay Mueller; his children, Andrew Ortbals and Leah Mertens (Chuck); his grandchildren, Madisen, Quinten, Alyssa, Zeke, David, Jocie and Lane; and his siblings, Tommy Ortbals, Phillip Ortbals and Pam Hofmann.
