She was predeceased by: her parents, Margaret Pansy (Fairbanks) and Benjamin Wilson Sylvester; and her husband Jack Edward Leyes. She is survived by: her children, Tim Leyes (Denise) of Nashville, TN, Dan Leyes (Carolyn) of Colorado Springs, CO, Cindy Leyes of Cedar Rapids, IA, Cathy Cummings (Stu) of St. Charles, MO, Doug Leyes (Kim) of Kemp, TX and Jackie Bergquist (Shawn) of Cedar Rapids, IA.; her grandchildren, Jessica Sills (Sean), Courtney Horton (Allen), Cassidy Cummings, Jacque Hamburger (Robert), Rachel Larkin (Alex), Caitlin Gallagher (Charles), Mary Neidert (Trey), Benjamin Leonard (Kevin Stiles), Chad Leyes, Timothy Leyes Jr., Andrew Leyes, Brianne Heitz (Bobby), Brooke North (Mason), Britt Bergquist, Annie Spirtas (Connor) and Jack Bergquist; her great grandchildren, Louis, Collette, Stuart, Jack, Calvin, Drew, Sally Jo, Oliver, Sean Jr., Clara, Boyd, Raegan, Guinevere, Frankie, Gabriel, Cale and Kendall; and her friends, Sherry, Kiersten Sealy and Jody Wohlers.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 13th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Colliers Funeral Home (3400 N Lindbergh Blvd, St Ann, MO 63074). A funeral Mass will be held on Friday, November 14th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. Joseph Church (567 Saint Joseph Lane, Manchester, MO 63021).
In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to be used for the ongoing care of Jo's beloved grandson, Chad. The donations may be given to any of the Leyes siblings made payable to Timothy J. Leyes in care of Chad Leyes.
