He was predeceased by: his parents, Sammy Frank McDaniel and Ella Lavell McDaniel; his siblings, Tina McDaniel and Kenneth McDaniel; his daughter Colleen Ann Tarkington; and his granddaughter Jaylynn Nicole Billman.

He is survived by: his wife Barbara McDaniel; his children, Christine Marie McDaniel, Jessica Lynn McDaniel, Sammy Bryan McDaniel Jr. Shane, Chester Carlton, Joshua Pence and Justin Pence; and his brother Tommy Lynn McDaniel.
