He was predeceased by: his parents, John Balsamo and Josephine Balsamo; his daughter Jeannine Balsamo; and his siblings, Dolly Kabacki, Freida Ahern, Joseph Balsamo, Mary Thompson and Sam Balsamo.

He is survived by: his wife Nancy L. Balsamo; his daughter Sharon Johnson (Gary); and his grandchildren, Ashley LaPak (Tom), Blake, Evan and Lance Johnson.

Memorials may be made in Al's name to Parkinson's Foundation.
