He was predeceased by: his parents, Dallam Ashburn and Ruth Ashburn. He is survived by: his wife Kathy Ashburn; his stepchildren, Lisa Reed (Jude), Jackie Billet and Dave Billet; his grandchildren, Jake, Lilly, Cade, Cole Reed and Mary Claire Billet; his sister Nancy Miranda (Marcelo) of Boston, MA; his sibling's children, Alejandro (Tara), Mason and Ava Miranda; and his goddaughter Kristen Van Giesen.
