She was predeceased by : her husband Frank Vincent May, Jr.; her parents, Nellie Lorene and Louis Fontana, Jr.; and her son Louis May.

A funeral service was held on Thursday, April 18th 2024 at 12:00 PM at the Baue Funeral Home - St Charles (620 Jefferson St, St Charles, MO 63301).

Memorials may be made in Irene's name to Humane Society of Missouri, Five Acres, Stray Rescue of St. Louis.
