He was predeceased by: his parents, Willis Jackson and Ola Jackson; his wife Connie Jean Jackson; and his brother Paul Jackson. He is survived by: his siblings, David (Kay) of Shreveport and Sarah L Bradford of Maumelle Arkansas; his children, James D Jackson Jr. (Jill Ridlehoover Jackson) and Viki Leigh Jackson; and his stepson Darrin Beamer (Kristi Martin Beamer). He is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
