He was predeceased by: his parents, Harlan Keith McCormick and Beulah Fern Carley; and his siblings, Noel and Shirley Ciesielski (late Robert). He is survived by: his spouse Shirley Ann McCormick; his daughters, Dianne Hagan (late Jerry) and Nancy S. Moss; his grandchildren, Kyle Hagan (Melissa), Molly Hagan and Brenna Moss (Jason Zack); his great grandchildren, Savannah, Brenton and Tanner Hagan; and his siblings, Fred McCormick (Virginia) and Barbara.

Memorials may be made in James's name to Immanuel Lutheran Church.
