He was predeceased by: his wife Sharon L. Collins; his parents, James P. Collins and Izola M. Collins; and his daughters, Cassie Collins and Devon Collins.

He is survived by: his children, James Collins (Kristen), Jillian Taylor (Mike) and Paige Jones (Brandon); his grandchildren, Anna, Jay, Liam, Jaxsen, Isla, Jagger and Jett; his sisters, Cindy Brooks (Gary) and Pam Schneider (Steve); his child-in-law Laurie Hinrichs (Jeff); and his pet Thor.
