He was predeceased by: his wife Janice L. Ryan; and his parents, Dorothy Ryan, and Lawrence Ryan, Sr.. He is survived by: his children, Laura Rennison, Matt Ryan (Rachel) and Cathryn Coleman (Joe); his grandchildren, Isaac Rennison, Caleb Rennison, Wisdom Ryan, Sophia Ryan, Jacob Coleman and Elizabeth Coleman; and his siblings, Pat Schneider (late Thomas), Toni Kammermeyer (Russ) and Joe Ryan (Cathy).

In lieu of flowers or plants, memorial contributions may be made in Lawrence's name to Missouri Botanical Gardens.
