She was predeceased by: her parents, Andrew James Charos and Ida Dorothy Betty Charos (Glahn); her husband Dale Walter Gardels; and her brother Andrew Dale Charos. She is survived by: her daughters, Susan Denise Schmieding and Cynthia Diane Burreson; her sons-in-law, Rev. Scott Schmieding and Kent Burreson; and her grandchildren, Jenna Gwaltney (Ryan), Paul Schmieding, Maggie Burreson-Webber (Jared) and Lily Kate Burreson.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church Music Ministry, Lutheran North Middle and High School (St. Louis), or Lutheran High School of St. Charles County.
