He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Judith Ann Gruner; his daughters, Jennifer Nevins (Shawn) and Alisa Cuneo (Daniel); his sister Marguerite "Margie" Williams; his grandchildren, Lauren and Aidan Nevins; and his parents, Renard "Bud" Gruner and Marguerite Gruner. He was also cherished by his family and many friends.

Visitation was held on Thursday, September 3rd 2026 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Friday, September 4th 2026 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM. A funeral service was held on Friday, September 4th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Immanuel Lutheran Church (115 S 6th St, St Charles, MO 63301). A burial was held on Friday, September 4th 2026 at the St. Charles Memorial Gardens (3950 W Clay St, St Charles, MO 63301).
