It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Rich Cates (Saint Charles, Missouri), who passed away on September 4, 2022, at the age of 69, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Wanda Cates and Calvin Cates; and his father-in-law Claude Barnes. He is survived by: his wife Claudia Cates; his daughters, Jennifer Williams (Damon) and Kristin McCullen (Dan); his grandchildren, Damon, Reid and Caleb; his sisters, Marcia Shiffert (late Al) and Melisa Van Dolah (Grant); his nieces, Cara Litvin (Toly) and Mindy Shiffert; his great-nephew Landon Shiffert; his siblings-in-law, Rick Barnes, Jeff Barnes (Denise) and Tina Miazza (late John); and his parent-in-law Shirley Willman (Ron).

Memorial contributions may be made in Rich's name to the Cancer Research Institute.
