He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Lanigan and Geraldine Lanigan; his sister Janet Lanigan; and his siblings-in-law, Doug Schmucker, Neal Schmucker, Charlie Parks and Judy Schmucker.

He is survived by: his wife Jan; his sons, Jason and Sean (Angie); his grandchildren, Adelaide, Price and Cecily; and his siblings, Nancy Davis (Tom), Lynne Wuelling (Terry), Carol Elmendorf (Terry), Michelle Lanigan (Baker) and Michael Lanigan. He is also survived by 22 nieces and nephews and many great-nieces and great-nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Ronald McDonald House Charities of St. Louis.
