He was predeceased by: his wife Patsy E. Schaeper; his parents, Alfred B. Schaeper and Ruby McLain; and his sister Doris Edwan. He is survived by: his sons, Brett Schaeper and Craig Schaeper (Shelia); and his grandchildren, Zachary and Abbie.
