He was predeceased by: his parents, Russell McDowell and Wave Marie McDowell (Shultz); his sisters, LaVonne and Carla; his son Greg Pointer; and his grandson Logan.
He is survived by: his wife Janet Ann McDowell (Williams); and his children, Michael McDowell (Rhonda) of St. Louis, MO, Kevin Pointer of Rolla, MO, Chuck McDowell of Belle, MO, Jeffrey Pointer of Rolla, MO, Tommy Shaw (Tabetha) of Salem, MO, LaVonne Cyr of Nevada, MO and Michelle Deibero (Damon) of Rolla, MO. He is also survived by fourteen grandchildren, twenty-six great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild.
